T-Bonk! You foolin' around again?

Dunno who this is, but it reminded me of Bonkers. That or a NickDub wanna be:

Makes coming to work today worth it

My co-workers and I were walking back to the building from lunch today when the following happened. We saw a woman drop a few things out of her purse while fishing for her identification badge. She was hustling so she must have forgotten to pick up the tube of what looked like toothpaste that was now lying, face down, on the pavement. My buddy, reached down to retrieve the tube and return it to her, and in the process managed to kick it with his foot. This action turned the tube over to reveal.....VAGI-GUARD. We broke out laughing, man that was the best laugh I've had in months. He left the tube where it was, what do you think that woman would have thought if he had actually returned it to her in the lobby of our building?

Big Belly, RUMOR?

So I made the promised trip to Canal and Centre to find Big Belly the trash compaction system and IT WASN'T THERE!! I had intended to place my brown bag in it and photograph it and generally admire, but it seems to be missing. So, I'm now on a hunt to find it. However, in the course of 30 minutes of walking I was able to witness the following list of interesting "only in New Yawk" kind of things.

1) While eating my veggie burger in front of federal court building I eavesdropped on a group of lawyers discussing the merits of some out of court settlement that they had happily arrived at this morning between some woman with a now-broken back and a scaffolding company.

2) I observed an overfed Latina with a stroller pleading with a court officer to tell her where she could find the location that she had been told was "RIGHT HEAH ON LAFFYETTE STREET" for sending cash to Rikers Island.

3) I narrowly missed getting hit by a flying gob that some chinaman on Canal Street launched in my general direction.

4) I was pushed aside by a man who was louldly pronouncing that another man on the street was packing a gun and was intending to shoot him.

5) In the City Hall subway station I walked behind a rather large african american guy tooting on a harmonica and singing "amazing grace" as loud as he could.

6) On the subway I witnessed a struggle between a toddler and his teenage mom for "The Star" magazine, during which the child would reach out for the mag and his mother would quickly slap his hand back with a quick stroke. The toddler was bawling as loud as he could and his little hand was getting redder and redder with each reach and subsequent strike.

snarking for the money

dudes. da man is slave driving me... i'm working on another Friday late. Dinner is cold and the kids caint remember my name. Somebody put together a jam and help my ass out.

A Treat

Last year, four of the famed Pigs ventured off from the drove into a studio to muck about in the sonic filth of guitar hero, instrumental rock and roll. A camera was on hand to document the event which had lilting melodies, hard driving rhythyms and very intense moments. And of course, it wouldn't be the Pigs if it didn't have a bit of long-winded dreck in between those high points. But it is well worth the watch and listen.

If you're an occasional or closet listener of Satch or Vai (and have a high-speed connection), check out this vid:

FYI - things start heating up after about 25 minutes, rise and fall and eventually end with a smoking blues climax.

new music posted on www.stormpigs.com

A surprisingly strong set of material poured forth from the lads last Thursday. A lot of pent-up rage was released, many winter doldrums were shaken off, much bourbon was drunk and other devices to lower the defenses of better judgement were exercised. It must be noted that the bass seemed to be the instrument of the evening, with many songs following the four-stringed instruments' lead. Big, 256Kbps MP3s available on our home page. Songs are numbered in chronological order.

Costco Hot Dog and Pizza = shatsplosion

In a tragic turn of events, the joy that an expensive pizza and hot dog
from Costco brought, soon turned into unstoppable intestinal rumblings and
a fountain of excrement. Details to follow..

I wish to put forth the argument that excessive volume is a narcotic. One to which all of us are inarguably, gloriously and tragically addicted.

I'll get this email thing right sooner or later

Kind of a goofy Dad thing... but I took my boy out for boy's only
dinner at the local diner friday night. No beer yet. Anyway, his hair
is getting long, his mother likes that, but I find that the older I
get, the more like my own Dad I get. So I say,
"JD, you want to get a haircut tomorrow?"
He says "Yes Daddy."
So I say, "You want to get a short haircut or leave it a little long?"
and JD says "No Daddy, I want a haircut just like you."
Kind of makes for a nice Friday night.

just testing my email blog thang

So that wasn't such a big dog that storm. Wha happen? I went to bed thinking big snow!
